A Day With The Great David

So today was just another Church Sunday. I went to church, I sat there listening to songs and the speaker talking about God. Blah blah all those usual Sunday, if your a Christian or attended church will know what I'm talking about. Well after church I went out to eat with my friend David. He is more like a counselor but I still consider him as a friend. He is married around 32 years old. So he is like double my age. We haven't really talked for a long time, so he invited me to go eat with him and do a little catching up. Well it was a fun time to really talk to someone I can share to and get a different point of views. Because he is older and he had more experience in life than most of my friends, considering the fact that we are only 17 or 18 years old right now. I know I can get an answer from him, so I told him what was going through my life.

Because I just broke up with my girlfriend Shelly, so my world seems slower and pointless. Because of her, I see the dark and the evil side of the world. I finally see how cruel this world can be. You can say I am growing up and getting mature. It is true, you won't believe until you experience it yourself. Regardless how big or how small the thing may be.

Here is a little example, Life is like a hurdle race, there are many hurdles you have to jump. When the gun was fired, you sprint to the first hurdle, and you jump. It is easy, but here comes the second one, you look back. You wonder why it seems harder and taller. The Third one you barely pass it. Finally you got the fourth one, you began to have doubt that you can jump over it. You jump and you trip. Are you going to stay down and forfeit the race, or you going to try to finish it even when you know you have lost? Are you going to pick yourself up and finish it?

What I am trying to say is, don't ever give up. The Past is a Wonderful thing, because it teaches you not to make that same mistake, But don't let the past control you. Because each hurdles is like our problem, Each one will seems harder and harder, do not let it hit you and make give up on the race. Get back up and Finish the race! Because at the end, your friends and family will be at the end of the race holding you and be with you.

David also told me some Christian example and stuff, after hearing him talk. I feel much better, not because I know or I believe in God. I realize I was tripped by one of those hurdles, but I did not give up, I got up. Now I am preparing to jump the next one. I realize I am not as weak as other people told me. I believe one day I will jump over this hurdle. When my kids, or other people are going through this problem, I have something to offer them as a word of wisdom.
