A Sad Story

During World War two, a couple was force to be apart forever. They were happily married, they had two kids. William is 9 years old, and Josh is 6 years old. The family lived in Seattle, USA. Jerry, 35 years old, is an Chinese American, who came over after World War One. He started a small business that sells T-shirt. Sarach, 30 years old, a Japanese American, who came over before World War One. She came over as a student. The first time they met, Jerry and Sarah fell deep in love and decided to get marry after 2 years of dating. They have their own little place in a peaceful neighborhood.

But peaceful time did not last. War in Europe breakout, Germany and Japan from an alliance against Frances and Britain. War for America is not the first choice. Jerry and Sarah did not think their love will be put to the test. But when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, all Jerry and Sarah's hope is gone. America had joined the war. Because of Sarah's background as a Japanese woman. She was send to camp where all the other japanese people were send too. Jerry was send to fight the war in europe.

Before their departure, they made a vow of love. After the war, Jerry will come back alive and be with Sarah. Sarah will survive the camp and take care of the children. Sarah gave a necklace to Jerry to keep. Inside there was a picture of her and the children. She told him to keep it with him at all time.

Jerry was send to the 55 machine gun division. His job wasn't to fight, he was the driver. He drives a truck who has all the guns and bullet in it. Jerry meet a young man name Kelvin. Kelvin is an African American who lived in Chicago. Although they are two different race, they became close friend. They have alot in common, they both fight for their family. Kelvin's wife was pregnent but he could not pay for hospital, the only way his wife can give birth in a hospital is if he join the army. Kelvin is a very strong minded person. He swore that he will go home after the war and take care of his baby. Because they were both in the same Division and Kelvin was the guard who guard the Truck that Jerry drives. They became close friend.

Kelvin and Jerry's division was mainly serve as a defense, therefore they did not see much action. It been 2 years, since they were sent to Europe. Jerry and Kelvin been through many attack and they both survived. With the war coming to an end, Jerry and Kelvin was send to the 3rd Divison as the front assault. They were preparing for the D-day invasion. Jerry took out his necklaces and look at it. He remember the vow he made to his wife. HE WILL NOT DIE. He will live and go back home to see her.

The ship had stopped, Gun fire was everywhere. The sea had turn red, bodies were flowing everwhere. The gate dropped. Jerry rushed out with his machine gun. He ran arcoss the ocean with Kelvin next to him. They fall behind a post to take cover. They stare at each other in the eye and said to each other "it is great knowing you, let do this!" with one nodded they both rush out and charge to the ground. Jerry and Kelvin made it through the first part. now they must climb up the mountain to destory the bunker. Kelvin throw the rope up but he left himself open. A sniper shot Kelvin in the arm. Kelvin fells to the ground. Jerry grab him before the second shot comes. They hid behind a rock where they are safe. Kelvin's arm was bleeding. Jerry grabbed him and yell at him. "YOU CAN NOT DIE HERE, YOU HAVE TO GO HOME AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR WIFE!" Kelvin ripped his shirt and over the wound and told Jerry "I will cover you, you have to climb up that rope and destory the Bunker" Jerry nod and counted to 3. Kelvin rush out holding his gun with one hand, he began to shoot at the mountain. But another shot came and hit Kelvin in the Leg. Jerry scream and looked at Kelvin. But Kelvin stood up and told Jerry not to worry and complete the mission. Jerry continue climbing. Finally he go up and he planted a bomb and destoried the bunker. After a long day, the attack is over. Jerry rush to Kelvin to see if he is okey. Kelvin had 4 shot, one in the arm, two in the leg, and one in the left chest. But it was not enough to kill him. Kelvin was send to a hospital to heal. Jerry continue to fight while Kelvin was in the hospital. The 3rd divison continue to advance. Jerry kept that necklace close by. Without his best friend, Jerry has to go through it alone.

With the last stand of the Nazi, the 3rd divison advance to Berlin. Jerry walked out of his tent and looked up. Kelvin stand right in front of him. Jerry and Kelvin hugged and talked for a while. Kelvin told Jerry that he is back to fight with him. They shook hand and vow to live together and die together.

The 3rd divison destoried the Nazi's army in less than an hour. No chance the Nazi can stop the attack. The American armys cheer as they took the Nazi's soldier as prisoner. Jerry and Kelvin cried as they walk through the street of Berlin. They made it through the two and a half year of hell. But fate can be twisted, a German soldier on the ground took his pistal and aim at Kelvin's chest. He fire a shot with his last breathe.

The medic rush up to the Kelvin. Kelvin stun as he look down to the ground. Slowly fall to the ground, Kelvin's tear fall on Jerry's chest. Jerry took his Necklace and told Kelvin to bring it to his wife and tell her that she is sorry. The medic push Kelvin away. The stopped the bleeding. But Jerry was not moving at all.

Kelvin returned to America, he moved to Seattle with his family. He walked to Jerry's old house. He saw Sarah and the kids crying. He walked up to Sarah and hugged her. He took out the Necklace and handed it to Sarah. He told her "Jerry was a good man, He never took the necklace off. Every night he will open it and talk to it like it was alive. He always tell me about you and his children. And I will tell him about my family too. We were really close. He told me he can give me a job after we come back from the war. I would laugh at him." Kelvin break into tears as he tell Sarah about the story. Sarah looked at Kelvin and told him "I would love it if you can help me run the store." Kelvin took Sarah's hand and shake it. "I will not let it fall"

Sarah and Jerry's love did not break apart. Sarah took care of the family and the business with Kelvin. Every Night Sarah will open the necklace like Jerry did during the war and talk to it. The only thing is the picture is different. Jerry lived in Sarah and Kelvin's heart forever as a Great Husband and a Great friend.
